I engage my clients in a dialogue to gain an understanding of who they are and their wants and needs. This includes asking probing questions that focus on their desired outcomes. In some cases, I also use assessment tools. Once the path that the client wants to follow is clear, we focus on setting goals to help them achieve success. I set clear expectations for each session and track the client's progress closely.
My coaching style is supportive, yet direct.
Once a manager has learned the basics and tools needed to effectively manage people, we expand our work to focus on strategic thinking.
Most of my career has been working with individual contributors and helping them assess their own performance and the potential gaps they need to focus on improving.
